Fiona Tande is a Maasai wildlife filmmaker, conservationist, and the Founder and Director of Pridelands Films and its flagship initiative, Pridelands Wildlife Film Festival (PWFF), Africa's first and only wildlife, nature, conservation, and environmental film festival, The Home of African Storytellers™. Operating under the ethos Rooted in Africa, Resonating Globally®, PWFF has championed African narrative sovereignty across four editions, screening over 200 films and centering the voices of African, BIPOC, and Global South storytellers too often sidelined by mainstream conservation media. A member of The Explorers Club EC50 Class of 2024 with over a decade in conservation, Fiona is currently in development on her directorial debut documentary examining the tensions between cultural preservation and modernization. Her work sits at the intersection of film, indigenous knowledge systems, and environmental justice, driven by an unwavering conviction that those closest to the land must lead the telling of its stories.
