Elaine Vilar Madruga is one of Latin America’s most influential literary voices. She is a novelist, poet, playwright and multidisciplinary artist. Her most notable works include Salomé, La tiranía de las moscas and El cielo de la selva. Her most recent novel, La piel hembra, has been published by Alfaguara in Latin America. Her writing explores the points of convergence between horror and lyricism in a constant reflection on systems of power, the limits of the body and new ways of understanding and defending feminism.
