Silvia RUIZ TRESGALLO

Silvia Ruiz Tresgallo holds a PhD in Hispanic Studies from Penn State University (USA), a Master's degree in Hispanic Studies from Western Michigan University (USA) and a Bachelor's degree in Geography and History from the University of Cantabria (Spain). Her research interests include gender studies, cultural studies of the Hispanic world, the construction of the witch and Latin American literature with a transatlantic focus. Her work seeks to make visible the writing and voices of historically marginalized groups, as well as the agency of individuals or communities that deviate from the norm. In this regard, she is interested in the body analysed from a gender perspective, especially in relation to the monstrous and the demonic. She is a member of the National Network of Researchers of Mexico (Level 2). She serves as the Chair of the Association for Gender and Sexuality Studies. Currently, she is a full-time researcher and lecturer at the Autonomous University of Queretaro.
