Carolina ZÚÑIGA

Trained as an ethnologist, she has diplomas in ethnomusicology, children’s and young adult literature, human rights, aesthetic education and critical feminisms for political participation. Storyteller and reader, teacher, researcher and cultural manager. She promotes the cultural diversity of Old Mexico through interdisciplinary activities combining the literature, dance and music of Mexico’s indigenous peoples. A traditional dance performer and a sound archivist and compiler of literary and audiovisual documents relating to indigenous music and dance. She coordinates the PNSL’s Jun Akit: Soy un Colibrí intercultural reading room. She works at the Centro Educativo Narciso Bassols AC, promoting artistic projects, the recovery of traditional knowledge and the strengthening of identities in rural communities.
