Katerina VALDIVIA BRUCH

Katerina Valdivia Bruch is an independent curator and researcher based in Berlin. She holds a PhD from the School of Art at the University of Reading; a master’s degree in Museum Studies and Critical Theory from the Independent Studies Program at MACBA/Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; and a diploma in Cultural Policies and Management from the Universitat de Barcelona. She has curated exhibitions, organized talks and symposia, and collaborated with institutions including Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin; ZKM – Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe; Para/Site Art Space in Hong Kong; Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB); and the Institute of Contemporary Arts in Singapore. In 2008, she was co-curator of the Prague Triennale Re-Reading the Future, held at the National Gallery in Prague. In addition to her curatorial work, she has taught at the Universität der Künste Berlin and has published essays and articles in numerous specialized art journals. She is the artistic director of the research platform on Latin American art Rethinking Conceptualism: Avant-Garde, Activism and Politics in Latin American Art (1960s–1980s) and the editor of Repensar el conceptualismo: vanguardia, activismo y política en el arte latinoamericano (1960s–1980s) (2025), a publication that brings together and expands upon this research.
