(United Kingdom) Fflur Dafydd is a novelist from Carmarthen who writes in both Welsh and English. She published her first work, Lliwiau Liw Nos, in 2005 and since then has published a total of six novels which have won a number of prizes, including an award at the National Welsh Eisteddfod in the prose category (2006) and the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize (2009). Her first novel in English, Twenty Thousand Saints (2008), is aninnovative retelling of her Welsh novel Atyniad and won her the Oxfam Hay Emerging Writer of the Year at the 2009 Hay Festival. Dafydd is also an acclaimed singer-songwriter, winner of the Female Artist ofthe Year in 2010 at the BBC Radio Cymru awards.
