Pedro MAIRAL (Argentina)

Pedro Mairal was born in Buenos Aires in 1970. His novel Una noche con Sabrina Love won the 1998 Clarín Prize and was made into a film. His novel La uruguaya was also adapted for cinema in 2023. Other works published by him include the novels El año del desierto and Salvatierra, the short story collection Breves amores eternos, and the poetry books Tigre como los pájaros, Consumidor final and Pornosonetos. In 2007 he was included by the Bogotá39 panel among the best young Latin American writers. In 2013 he published the novel in sonnets El gran surubí. His essays and columns are published in Maniobras de evasión and Esta historia ya no está disponible. His latest novel is entitled Los nuevos. The work of Mairal has been translated into over 14 languages.
