Kiran Desai is the Booker Prize winning author of three novels, The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny, The Inheritance of Loss and Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard. Among her other honors are a National Book Critics Circle Award, a Guggenheim fellowship, a fellowship from the American Academy in Berlin and a Columbia University Medal of Excellence. The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny is partly set in Mexico.
