This writer was born in Mexico in 1960. He was shortlisted for the Medicis award for best foreign novel published in France in 2000, he received the Xavier Villaurrutia Award for his novel Flores in 2001 and the 2008 Mazatlán National Literature Prize. His latest published works have been: La clase muerta (2011), La mirada del pájaro transparente (2011), El libro uruguayo de los muertos (2012), La Jornada de la Mona y el Paciente (2013) Gallinas de Madera (Sexto Piso, 2013), El hombre dinero (Sexto Piso, 2013), Jacobo reloaded together with Zsu Szkurka (Sexto Piso, 2014) and El laboratorio donde terminas (Sexto Piso 2016). Recently he has published Bola Negra (Sexto Piso, 2017), adapted by Liniers
