Julian BARNES

(Leicester, U.K, 1946) Julian Barnes was educated in London and Oxford. He started out as a journalist before publishing his first novel, Metroland, in 1980. Since then he has carved out a reputation as one of contemporary Britain's most brilliant and sophisticated novelists. He has been awarded the E.M Forster award, the William Shakespeare Award and the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Titles include Flaubert’s Parrot (1984), England, England (1998) and Arthur George (2005).
