Amalia Iglesias (Menaza, Palencia, 1962) has devoted the last three decades to journalism and cultural management. A contributor to Revista de Occidente over several years, she is the author of Un lugar para el fuego (Adonais Prize 1984); Memorial de Amauta (Alonso de Ercilla Prize from the Basque Government 1987); Dados y dudas (Runner-up for the Jaime Gil de Biedma Prize 1995) and Lázaro se sacude las ortigas (Villa de Madrid Francisco de Quevedo Prize 2006). In 2004, the Royal Academy of Poetry of Córdoba awarded her the Don Luis de Góngora Gold Medal for all her work.
