Camila Batmanghelidjh is the founder and chief executive of Kids Company, a charity that provides emotional, educational and practical support to vulnerable inner city children.
Camila has been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years. In her late twenties she founded the charity The Place 2 Be and in 1996 Kids Company was founded in some railway arches. Immediately, some 200 children self-referred from street gangs.
Nearly 14 years later, the organisation cares for 14,500 children.
Camila considers herself very privileged to be working with what she describes as extraordinarily courageous and dignified children.
