A writer, philosopher and lecturer in law and human rights at Birkbeck, University of London. Guardiola is a radical thinker who formed part of the Séptima Papelet movement, which opened the path for the 1991 Constitution. A columnist for The Guardian and El Espectador, he is the author of books such as La otra guerra, Si Latinoamérica gobernase el mundo and Story of a Death Foretold: The Coup against Salvador Allende, 11 September 1973. He was awarded the National Essay Prize at the Bogota International Book Fair.
