Duncan is an environmental journalist and author. He has been a consultant editor both at the Guardian and BBC Worldwide, and has written a number of successful books, including The Rough Guide to Green Living. He also edited The Rough Guide to Climate Change, which was shortlisted for Science Book of the Year. Duncan co-founded the GreenProfile imprint at Profile Books and was instrumental in setting up rainforest charity Cool Earth, which has projects in Peru and Brazil.
In 2006 Duncan set up GoGreenLights.co.uk, a non-profit website selling low-energy light bulbs.
