Spanish writer and journalist. His body of work, which has been translated into more than 30 languages, includes the following novels: El móvil, The Tenant and the Motive, El vientre de la ballena, Soldiers of Salamis, The Speed of Light, The Anatomy of a Moment, Outlaws, The impostor and El monarca de las sombras, almost all of them awarded prestigious national and international accolades. He has published assorted works - Una buena temporada, Relatos reales, La verdad de Agamenón and Formas de ocultarse, and essays - La obra literaria de Gonzalo Suárez and The Blind Spot. He has also received various essay and journalism awards, and different distinctions for his work, such as the Prix Ulysse in France, the International Prize at the Turin International Book Fair, the Friuladria Prize, the Internazionale Città di Vigevano Prize and the Sicilia Prize -- all in Italy.
