Mexican journalist, social activist and writer. She is a specialist in research on gender violence, health, childhood, and organized crime. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and co-founder of the Mexican, Central American and Caribbean Journalists’ Network. She founded the Center of Attention for women and children who are victims of violence (CIAM Cancún A.C) certified by the US National Training Center for Domestic and Sexual Violence. She is an expert in child cybersecurity, and in training for interviewing young victims of violence. She is also a recognized specialist in journalism in situations of risk and a survivor of police torture for her professional work. Her brave works of investigative journalism have made her the most awarded journalist in Mexico, having won 55 international awards. Newsweek & The Daily Beast consider her One of the 100 Women who Move the World.
