Joaquín DÍEZ-CANEDO

Joaquín Díez-Canedo has been editor of UNAM’s Dirección de Publicaciones y Fomento Editorial. Furthermore, between 1988 and 1993 he was General Manager of the Joaquín Mortiz publishing house. He has published novels, essays, short stories, poetry and reportage, and has supported Mexican writers of the second half of the twentieth century, such as Octavio Paz, José Agustín, Elena Garro, Jorge Ibargüengoitia, Vicente Leñero and Rosario Castellanos. In 2007 he was appointed Director of the Fondo de Cultura Económica, Mexico’s most important publisher.
