Ezequiel MARTÍNEZ

Ezequiel Martínez is a journalist and cultural manager. Since 2021, he has been the General Director of the El Libro Foundation, the institution that organizes the Buenos Aires International Book Fair. For 25 years, he worked in the newsroom of Clarín newspaper, where he specialized in cultural journalism and acted as editor of Revista Ñ. There, he interviewed writers such as Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Carlos Fuentes, José Saramago, Adolfo Bioy Casares, Ernesto Sabato, Jorge Amado, María Elena Walsh, Ray Bradbury and Paul Auster, among many others. He has published articles in print media throughout Latin America and Spain. As an educator, he has taught journalism on the Communication Sciences programme at the University of Buenos Aires, at the University of Belgrano and at the TEA (Taller Escuela Agencia). He is one of the authors of Presencia del ausente: Homenaje a García Márquez (Sudamericana, 2007). He twice received a grant from the Foundation for New Ibero-American Journalism, created by the Colombian Nobel laureate. Between 2016 and 2020, he was the Director of Culture at the National Library of Argentina.
