TRINO (José Trinidad Camacho)

Cartoonist with a long career in both print and online media. Winner of the National Journalism Award in the Political Cartoon section (2000) and the José Pagés Llergo National Communication Award (2006). He won the Inkpot Award at Comic-Con 2022 and La Catrina 2022 at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. He can be heard on La Chora Interminable, alongside Jis, co-creator of the cartoon series and 2012 film El Santos vs. La Tetona Mendoza. Since 2021, La Chora TV has been showing weekly on the University of Guadalajara’s Channel 44 and on Channel 22 of the Mexican Ministry of Culture. In 2023, he premiered the podcast La Última Trinchera with Andrés Bustamante and the animated version of Richie O'Farrill's comedy special, Ciudadano Mexicano. He has created dubbing and animation for the Olympic Games and World Cup. He has also worked illustrating children's books with the Fondo de Cultura Económica, Tusquets, Sexto Piso, and other publishers. Among the dozens of books he has published with various imprints are 11 volumes of the El Santos and Crónicas de un Dandy series, published by Penguin Random House. He has been invited to exhibit his most popular comic strips at the Mexican consulates in Atlanta, El Paso, San Diego and Salt Lake City.
