Alonso SALAZAR JARAMILLO

(Colombia 1960) Graduated in Journalism from the Universidad de Antioquia and served as Mayor of Medellin from 2008 to 2011. He was the co-founder of Corporación Región de Medellín, an organisation dedicated to sponsorship and social research. His published titles include No nacimos pa? semilla (1990), a classic on street violence in Colombia, Mujeres de fuego (1993), Drogas y narcotráfico en Colombia (2001) and a biography of Pablo Escobar La parábola de Pablo (2001). He won the Planeta Award for journalism in 2003.
