Rory CARROLL

carroll-rory (Ireland, 1972) This Irish journalist works for The Guardian. He studied Political Science and Economics at Trinity College and did a Master's in Journalism at Dublin City University. He began his professional career at The Irish News in Belfast and in 1997 moved to London to join The Guardian. As well as covering conflicts in the Yemen, Serbia, Afghanistan and Pakistan, he has been a correspondent in Rome, Johannesburg and Baghdad. From 2006 to 2012 he was in Caracas working as the paper's Latin American correspondent. He currently lives In Los Angeles and covers the south and west of the United States. Comandante: Hugo Chávez's Venezuela is his first book and was published in 2013.
