(Santander, 1965) Journalist and writer who has published both fiction and non-fiction. Since 1992 he has worked for El País, where he writes for the cultural section and the Babelia and El País Semanal supplements. He writes about music, film and books, for which he feels a genuine passion, particularly with regard to poetry. He has written novels on very different subjects. His authorial debut was Los ojos no ven (1997), followed by Preludio and Gordo, which won the Sent Soví Prize for food writing. Other works include: Yo, Farinelli, el capón; Ahogada en llamas; Placer contra placer and Contar la música. His latest novel is Hotel Transición (2016), which won the 17th Unicaja Fernando Quiñones Novel Prize.
