Víctor del Árbol is a writer. His novels include El peso de los muertos (winner of the 2006 Tiflos Novel Prize), La tristeza del samurái (winner of the 2012 Prix Le Point du polar européen), Respirar por la herida (a finalist at the 2014 Beaune Festival for best foreign novel), A Million Drops (winner of the 2015 Grand Prix de Littérature Policière and one of the standout books of 2021 in the United States according to Publishers Weekly), The Eve of Almost Everything (2016 Nadal Novel Prize), Above the Rain (2017), Before the Terrible Years (2019) and The Father’s Son (2021). No One on This Earth (2023) and The Time of the Beasts (2024) form, together with the new instalment Good Intentions (2026), the ‘Trilogy of the Nameless Hitman’. His books have been translated into numerous languages and enjoy extraordinary success in France, where in 2018 he was made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
