Juan David Morgan is a Panamanian lawyer, businessman, writer and philanthropist. He was born in the province of Chiriquí in 1942. He is the author of more than a dozen works of different literary genres: non-fiction, plays, historical novels and short stories, books that have gained him many readers, who have learned about the history of their country from him. He has received several national awards and some of his works have been translated into several languages. He is a founding partner of the firm Morgan & Morgan. President of the Board of Trustees of the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum since 1996 and of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees of the Ciudad del Saber Foundation since 1998. Member of the Panamanian Chamber of Books. Columnist for the weekly El Heraldo (1995-2000) and the newspaper La Prensa (2000-2004). Full member of the Panamanian Academy of Language. Corresponding member of the Cartagena de Indias Academy of History (Colombia).
