(Nederland) De Rooy studied generalliterature at the University of Amsterdam. After his studies he worked as afreelance editor and translator. In 2010 he started his own independent literary publishing house, named Uitgeverij Karaat, publishing Alejandro Zambra, Valeria Luiselli, Aleksandar Hemon, among others. He has translated works by: Cesare Pavese, Roberto Bolaño, Donald Ray Pollock, Emma Reyes, F.Scott Fitzgerald and Evelio Rosero.
