(Colombia) This Wayúu writer was born in Barrancas, in La Guajira, and has dedicated her life to portraying the essence of her native land through poetry. She teaches at the Institución Educativa Rural Mercedes Romero in Quintero (Los Cardones) and Uribía’s Escuela Nueva Superior. She has a pedagogy degree from Infotep and is the founder of the Fundación Casa del Arte. As well as her poetry, she has published the pedagogic books Recreando con los sueños de los niños and Estrategia metodológica de los sueños, as well as the novels Teichon and Lágrimas de abril. This year she is due to publish a book of short stories.
