(Colombia) Born in La Junta, LaGuajira, Martínez belongs to the group of composers linked to the ‘Cacique de la Junta’, Diomedes Díaz. His works include La juntera, Todas las tardes, Venceremos, Soy amigo and Por jugar al amor. He won the Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata with the song Con el alma en la mano, which deals with love and respect for thegreat and sublime social values, stating that these are his true source ofinspiration. He also won the San Juan del Cesar Festival with the song El sentir de mi pueblo, which wasrecorded by Diomedes Díaz. In 2009 he starred in the Ciro Guerra film Los viajes del viento.
