Before this, his prose had already appeared in publications such as Slate, Salon, Los Angeles Times, Outside, Audubon, Conservation, Reader's Digest, National Geographic
and Creative Nonfiction
. Bogard also edited the anthology Let There Be Light: Testimony on Behalf of the Dark
and currently lectures in Creative Nonfiction at James Madison University, Virginia.
