Author of Leyendo agujeros. Ensayos sobre (des)escritura, antiescritura y no escritura (FETA, 2005), Cabaret Provenza (FCE, 2007), La sodomía en la Nueva España (Pre-textos, 2010), Poemas de terror y de misterio (Almadía, 2013), Escribir con caca (Sexto Piso, 2017) and Declaración de las canciones oscuras (Sexto Piso, 2019). He has edited the anthologies: Divino Tesoro (Casa Vecina, 2008), La edad de oro (UNAM, 2012) and Arte & basura: una antología poética de Mario Santiago Papasquiaro (Almadía, 2012). He won the José Fuentes Mares National Literature Prize in 2012 and the Elena Poniatowska Ibero-American Novel Prize en 2019. He has curated the exhibitions Todos los originales serán destruidos (House of Gaga, 2014) and El negro sol de la melancolía (Carrillo Gil Art Museum, 2019) in which he explored relationships between art and literature. His work has been translated into a number of languages.
