(Colombia, 1963) A dramatist, director and actor with a degree in Dramatic Art from the Universidad del Valle. He also studied for two years at the Escuela Distrital de Teatro in Bogota and six at the Santiago García Theatre Study Workshop. Together with Marcela Valencia he founded the Petra Theatre in 1985. Since then he has won the 2013 National Prize for Theatre Direction and the 2010-2011 Award for Best Play, given by the FGAA. He has written 19 plays, four of them winners of National Drama awards: Gracias por haber venido (1996), Cada vez que ladran los perros (1997), La penúltima cena (1999) and El Natalicio de Schumann (2009). He has received five creative grants from the Ministry of Culture, four of his works have won co-production awards and the writing of two has been supported by residences abroad (Spain and Mexico). His works have been performed by companies in Slovenia, Chile, Mexico, the United States, Peru, Spain and France, and his work has been translated into French, English, Bosnian and Slovenian. For 2015-2017 he prepared the 30th anniversary of his company, the Teatro Petra, with the opening of Labio de Liebre at the Teatro Colón in Bogotá; a season of repertory, tours, publications and three new plays.
