(Cali, 1940) “Jotamario” is the pseudonym of the Colombian poet José Mario Arbeláez, a member of the
Nadaísmo, or ‘Nothing-ism’ literary movement of Colombia. The author of several books of poetry, such as
El espíritu erótico, El cuerpo de ella and
Nada es para siempre, he has won various awards for his work, including the National Poetry Prize (1980), the National Prize of the Colombian Institute of Culture (1985), the District Cultural Institute’s Poetry Prize, and the Valera Mora International Poetry Prize, among others.
