(Montevideo, 1982) After graduating with a degree in literature from the Universidad de la Republica, Ortiz worked as a proofreader at Faculty of Humanities and Education Science’s Literature Institute; a reviewer for the Culture supplement of La Diaria, and as a bookseller. She is the editor responsible for the creation of Criatura Editora, an independent publishing label which started out of the La Lupa bookshop in Montevideo in October 2011.
