Sylvie SIMMONS

Sylvie Simmons is an award-winning writer and one of the foremost rock journalists since the late Seventies, when she left her native London for Los Angeles and a life in music. She's the author of acclaimed fiction and non-fiction books including Serge Gainsbourg: A Fistful of Gitanes, which J.G Ballard named as a personal favourite and the cult short story collection Too Weird For Ziggy. Her most recent book is I'm Your Man: The Life of Leonard Cohen (2012), the international bestseller that the New York Times called "mesmerizing, definitive, fearless and smart", The Guardian described as "enthralling", and Rolling Stone wrote "makes every prior Leonard Cohen book practically unnecessary." Sylvie promoted her Cohen biography with an unorthodox tour, travelling the globe with her book and a ukulele, performing Cohen's songs, alone or with celebrated musical guests. An album of her own songs, Sylvie, was released in October 2014 on Light In The Attic Records. I'm Your Man: The Life of Leonard Cohen has been translated into 15 languages, including Spanish.
