He completed a Masters degree in fine art at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in Cartagena, and is a painter by profession, yet is also one of the biggest figures in the world of Champeta, with a career that continues to grow, even more so after several years ago he recorded his "life story" in one of his songs.
