Nuria BARRIOS

barrios-nuria Nuria Barrios is a writer, translator and PhD in Philosophy. She is the author of the novels Todo arde, El alfabeto de los pájaros and Amores patológicos; the books of short stories Ocho centímetros, El zoo sentimental and Balearia; and the books of poems La luz de la dinamo (winner of the Premio Iberoamericano de Poesía Hermanos Machado), Nostalgia de Odiseo and El hilo de agua (winner of the Premio Ateneo de Sevilla). His latest book, the essay La impostora. Cuaderno de traducción de una escritora has won the prize Premio Málaga de Ensayo. As a short-story writer, she has been included in numerous anthologies, the most recent of which is Tsunami, miradas feministas. She teaches on the Master's Degree in Creative Writing at the International University of Valencia (VIU). She is the Spanish translator of the Irish novelist John Banville/Benjamin Black and the American poet Amanda Gorman. Her latest translation is James Joyce's The Dead.
