Born in 1983, he is an American writer. He won the National Book Award for fiction in 2014 for his first publication, a collection of short stories, Redeployment. He has published in The New York Times: Death and Memory (2010) and After war, a failure of the imagination (2014). He has also collaborated in newspapers like New York Daily News, Tin House and The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2012.
