Catherine Fletcher is the author of The Roads to Rome: A Journey Into Europe’s Past and several other books, including The Firearm Revolution and The Beauty and the Terror: An Alternative History of the Italian Renaissance. An expert on sixteenth-century European history, she is a regular contributor to TV, radio and podcasts and enjoys exploring creative approaches to communicating history. She is Professor of History at Manchester Metropolitan University (UK).
