(Lima, 1957) He studied Hispanic Language and Literature at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and completed his doctorate in Romance Philology at the University of Helsinki in Finland. He has published the poetry books Singladuras, Pértigas, Luces de talud, Nostos, El revés y la fuga and Suzuki Blues, the last three collected in Trípode (2010) and Prooémium mortis (2016). Poems of his have been translated into French, German, Italian, Danish and Finish. Non-fictions works include El centinela de fuego and Ptyx: Eielson en el caracol. In 1988 he won the first El cuento de las mil palabras Prize awarded by Caretas, and in 2015 he won the Copé Bronze Award. He manages the Nido de Cuervos publisher and is editor of the magazines Evohé and Fórnix. He is also known for his work as a literary translator. He has lectured at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and at the Universidad Ricardo Palma. He currently manages the Lima International Poetry Festival (FIPLIMA).
