(Arequipa, 1963) Diplomat, pianist, school teacher and university lecturer. A graduate in International Relations from the Academia Diplomática del Perú with post-graduate studies from the Escuela Diplomática in Madrid and the Berlin Centre for Public Administration, as well as a Master’s in Politics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Lima. He has been, among other things, head of the department of culture at the Peruvian embassies in Bogota, Paris, Stockholm and Helsinki; and consul in Milan. As a classical musician, he has played recitals and concerts in cities around Peru as well as in Brazil, Colombia, the UK, France, Italy, Sweden, Finland and Spain. He currently represents the Ministry of Foreign Relations in his native city and is honorary vice-president of the Hay Festival de Arequipa.
