Pedro Pablo KUCZYNSKI

(Lima, 1938) Economist, businessman and politician. He is currently president of the Republic of Peru. He studied Philosophy, Economics and Politics at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom). He later took a postgraduate degree in Economics from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs (USA). When he finished his studies, he entered the World Bank, worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and other public and private institutions in Peru and abroad. He has held the following positions in the Peruvian state: head of the Peruvian Central Reserve Bank (1966), Minister of Energy and Mines (1980-1982), Economics and Finance Minister (2001-2002) and (2004-2005), as well as President of the Council of Ministers (2005-2006). He has written several books and articles on economics and the Peruvian and Latin American context.
