Mabel Lara (Cali, August 18, 1980) is a Colombian journalist, politician and public administrator, distinguished for her career in the media, her leadership in the public sector, and her activism for social inclusion, racial equity and sustainable development. She has been awarded numerous national and international journalism prizes, including the Simón Bolívar Prize and eight consecutive India Catalina Awards for Best News Anchor in Colombia, as well as recognition as an Iconic Woman Creating a Better World for All by the Women Economic Forum (2023) and the United Nations First Generation Award as an inspiring Latin American leader. Since 2024, she has served as Secretary of Economic Development for Santiago de Cali, after having been Secretary of Tourism (2024-2025) and Acting Mayor in the same administration, which has led to honours such as being named one of the 50+ leaders in Ibero-America for Sustainability.
