A graduate of what is now the FES-Aragón Faculty of Higher Studies at UNAM, he has worked at Radio Educación since 1991, where he has been a reporter since 1994. He has covered major artistic and literary festivals in Mexico, such as the Guadalajara International Book Fair and the International Cervantes Festival, in addition to reporting on Mexico's presence as a guest country at book fairs in Quebec City, Canada; Bogota, Colombia; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2003, he held a residency at Radio France Internationale in Paris, the same year he won the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Cultural Journalism Prize. In 2004, he joined the reporting team for the cultural section of Milenio Diario. He is the coordinator of the International Cultural Journalism Meetings and compiler of the book Ritos y retos del oficio, published in the Cultural Journalism collection of the federal Ministry of Culture. In 2023, he received the Fernando Benítez National Tribute for Cultural Journalism at the 37th Guadalajara Book Fair.
