Hernan BELLINGHAUSEN

(Mexico City, 1953) Poet, doctor, writer and reporter for the La Jornada newspaper since it was founded in 1984. From 1994 to 2014 he covered the Zapatista movement in Chiapas for La Jornada. Since 1989 he has been editing Ojarasca, a La Jornada supplement since 1997, dedicated to the original cultures, social and political expressions and literature of the indigenous peoples of Mexico and the Americas. He has published three books of short stories, the autobiographical story Aire libre and eight books of poems. His latest publications include titles such as Trópico de la libertad and Ver de memoria. He has also written film screenplays (Ciudad de ciegos, Corazón del tiempo) and the non-fiction Acteal: crimen de Estado.
