Director of the Faculty of Natural Sciences since 2012. She studied Industrial Biochemical Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Iztapalapa, and then a Master’s in Food Technology and Science at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. She later took a doctorate in Food Science at UAQ in collaboration with the Department of Biochemistry and Plant Biotechnology at the Centre for Advanced Studies and Research of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Irapuato. She has worked on many research projects in the areas of nutraceuticals, phytochemicals and phytopharmaceuticals. In 2014 she won first place in Medical Science and Technology at the Ciencias Bajío event. She has also written many papers at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. She has been a member of the National Research Network since 2002, and is a member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Bioquímica A.C. She is the head of the cellular, molecular and crop biology laboratory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
