She is the author of nine books, including six novels translated into more than 20 languages. Her novel Money from Hitler (2015) won the Magnesia Litera Prize for Best Novel of the Year in the Czech Republic (2007), as well as Germany’s Usedom Prize (2011) and the Georg Dehio Prize (2012). A Contribution to the History of Joy (2020) received the Spycher Leuk Literary Prize in Switzerland (2019). In 2024 she was awarded the Franz Kafka Prize (ÖGfL) and the European Prize for Tolerance. Denemarková is a member of the German Academy for Language and Literature. His latest published work is Sangre de chocolate (2025)
