Renata Salecl is a Slovenian philosopher and sociologist whose work explores anxiety, choice, ignorance, law, aggression and contemporary forms of social control. She is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Criminology at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana and Professor at Birkbeck, University of London. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and include The Tyranny of Choice, On Anxiety, A Passion for Ignorance and Per(versions) of Love and Hate. Her last book in Spanish is Maleducados (Editiones Godot, 2025). Drawing on philosophy, psychoanalysis and critical social theory, her work examines how contemporary social and economic changes shape emotional life, interpersonal relations and ideas of responsibility.
