President of the consultancy Rozental & Asociados. He was Founding President of the Mexican Council for International Affairs from 2001 to 2006. During his diplomatic career, between 1966 and 2001, he held a range of public positions including: Assistant International Relations Secretary; Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Ambassador to Sweden; and the Mexican Representative to the International Organizations in Geneva. Since 1994 he has held the lifetime position of Eminent Mexican Ambassador. He is currently a member of the boards of HSBC Mexico and Wilson Sons, Brazil. He works as a corporate consultant to a range of transnational corporations with activities in Mexico, Brazil and Europe. He is the author of three books on Mexico’s foreign relations and numerous articles published in Mexico and abroad. He is the head of the Mexican chapter of the Grupo de Alto Nivel Empresarial México-Reino Unido and is a member of the Executive Council of Global Companies (CEEG). He was Founding President of the Mexican Council of International Affairs (Comexi). He studied International Relations at the University of the Americas, Mexico and did a Master’s in International Economy at the University of Pennsylvania. He was Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington for 11 years and is currently a director of Canada’s Centre for International Governance Innovation and Senior Advisor to the Chatham House Royal Institute of International Affairs. He is also a member of the Trilateral Council and the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. He has been decorated by the governments of Sweden, France, Spain and Quebec, Canada.
