Programme for Schools 2020

The 2020 programme for schools was created especially for learning at home, bringing authors straight from their house to yours. These events, introduced by Konnie Huq and Jenny Valentine, are available to watch again on Hay Player and you can access teaching materials to support learning after the festival.

This digital programme for schools has been kindly funded by Welsh Government.

Winner of the Branford Boase Award 2019, Muhammad Khan’s debut novel I Am Thunder received great critical acclaim and firmly established him as an exciting voice in YA literature. Kick the Moon is Muhammad’s second novel and explores social issues of toxic masculinity and peer pressure. He has an engineering degree as well as an MA in Creative Writing. Mark My Words, Muhammad’s latest novel is out in August 2020.

Karl Nova is a hip hop artist, performance poet and author. His debut collection Rhythm and Poetry won the prestigious CLiPPA poetry prize. Karl travels locally, nationally and internationally conducting hip hop-inspired creative writing workshops.
