This brilliant adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s novel won virtually every accolade imaginable on its release, including two Academy Awards and nine other nominations. It is as chilling and dramatic today as when it was first released. A timid, young ladies companion is on holiday when she meets, falls in love with and marries the handsome and wealthy widower Maxim de Winter, whose wife has recently died in a boating accident. Her joy is short-lived, however. When she returns to the de Winter estate, the new Mrs de Winter discovers that Rebecca still has a strange hold on everyone there.
