Agustín Fernández Mallo and Pedro Mairal in conversation with Mariana H

Querétaro 2018,

The Argentinean Pedro Mairal, who was chosen for the first Bogotá39 in 2007, has won popularity with readers and critics alike with a novel that has become an international publishing phenomenon: La uruguaya. This short but intense story deals with sex, humour, infidelity, money, meanness, betrayal and even football. Agustín Fernández Mallo won the 2018 Biblioteca Breve Prize for his novel Trilogía de la guerra, a story that links three countries and three different periods, with the common link that they have suffered brutal wars on their territory. Together with the journalist Mariana H, these two writers talk about the many sides of life, from an everyday encounter to the limits of total devastation.
